How to find us
By Bus or Train
Getting to Gastein:
- Intercity stations in Gastein: Hourly services from Bad Gastein heading north (Salzburg, Munich) and south (Carinthia). Timetables and bookings via the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB)
- ÖBB Transfer Gastein: Transfer from the station to your accommodation in Gastein. Information and bookings via the ÖBB
Getting around locally:
- Guest Mobility Ticket: Free use of all public transport in the Salzburg region during your stay, including on the day of arrival. You will receive the ticket at your accommodation in Gastein. Further information at Guest Mobility Ticket
- Bus: Excellent bus services in the Gastein valley – running every 15 minutes from Dorfgastein to Sportgastein from 9 am to 5 pm until 20 September 2026. To the healing gallery, buses run every 30 minutes during opening hours – the bus stop is located directly in front of the entrance. The “Böckstein Mautstelle” bus stop is a 5–10-minute walk from the gallery. Detailed information and timetables can be found at gastein.com
By Car
- You’ll find a large car park and electric charging points right by the gallery!
- Route planner: Heilstollenstraße 19, 5645 Böckstein
- From Munich , approx. 3 hours' drive.
- From Salzburg , approx. 1.5 hours' drive. Take the Tauern motorway south to Bischofshofen (Gasteiner Tal exit), then federal highway 167 to Gasteinertal – Böckstein.
- From Innsbruck , approx. 3 hours' drive. Motorway via Wörgl, federal highway 312 to Lofer, federal highway 311 to Lend, federal highway 167 to Gastein.
- Coming from the south (Carinthia), drive via Villach, Obervellach to Mallnitz – from there take the Tauernbahn motorail train – ÖBB to the Gastein Valley.
By Plane
The nearest airports are in Salzburg (approx. 100 km), Munich (approx. 230 km), and Klagenfurt (approx. 125 km). A taxi service is available for luggage transfers.
